Terms of Use

Last updated 18 October 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of https://securitykeypads.com (the "Site"). The Site is operated by X Enterprises, LLC, 18122 3rd Dr SE, Bothell, WA 98012 ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

What the Site is, and what it is not

The Site publishes general information about keypads for doors, gates, garages, and alarm panels, including keypad and keyless lock types, power and batteries, codes and access, wireless and connected keypads, and what to check before installing one. We are not a retailer, a brand, a maker, a locksmith, an installer, an alarm or monitoring company, a testing laboratory, a government agency, a building or fire official, or a lawyer. We do not sell, install, or monitor keypads, locks, alarms, or other products. The Site does not give prices, product picks, installer referrals, wiring instructions, or instructions for bypassing, resetting, or defeating any lock or keypad.

Important security and life-safety notice

No keypad, lock, code, alarm, or other product can guarantee that a door, home, or property will stay secure, or that a break-in, theft, or harm will not happen. Codes can be seen, guessed, or shared, devices and batteries can fail, and connected devices can have software or network problems. A lock or keypad on a door that people use to leave a building can affect how quickly they can get out in a fire or emergency. You are responsible for choosing, installing, and using any device, for following the maker's instructions, for keeping codes private and changing them when needed, for keeping a working way to get in and out, and for checking with your local building or fire official before you install a lock on an exit door. In an emergency, call 911.

General information only; no security, legal, or professional advice

Content on the Site is for general information. It is not security, electrical, fire, building code, accessibility, legal, regulatory, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for the maker's instructions, your local building or fire official, or a licensed professional. We do not say that any product, code, setting, or practice is secure, reliable, compliant, or suitable for you or your property, or that it will prevent any crime, loss, or injury.

No security guarantee

Words such as "secure," "tamper resistant," "encrypted," or "smart" used about a product are the maker's descriptions, not ours. We do not test, rate, or certify the security of any product, and nothing on the Site is a security assessment of any product, home, or property.

Codes, PINs, and access

The Site gives general cautions about codes, such as avoiding obvious codes and changing codes you have shared. They are general information. They are not a security assessment, and following them does not make any code, keypad, or door secure. The Site does not give code length advice or statistics. Follow the maker's instructions for setting, changing, and sharing codes.

Exit doors, fire, and life-safety codes

Building, fire, accessibility, and housing rules for locks and electric locking hardware vary by place and by type of building. The Site does not say what any code allows or requires. Before you install a keypad or lock on a door or gate that people use to leave a building, check with your local building or fire official and, if you rent, with your landlord.

Wireless and connected devices

Where the Site describes Federal Communications Commission (FCC) labeling for wireless devices, it does so as the FCC's rules state it. An FCC statement on a device is not a statement about its security. Connected keypads and their apps are run by their makers under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not say that any device, app, or network is secure.

Installation, wiring, and professionals

The Site does not give wiring instructions and does not refer you to any installer, locksmith, or alarm company. Use a licensed professional where your state or local rules require one, and follow the maker's instructions. We are not responsible for any installer's work.

Makers' instructions and labels

Keypads, locks, alarms, and accessories are made and sold by third parties under their own terms. Their instructions, warnings, labels, and recall notices control over anything on the Site. We have not tested any product. We are not responsible for any third party's products, claims, instructions, software, or recalls.

Agencies, organizations, and sources

Government agencies named on the Site, including the FCC, are credited for their own rules. None of them endorses the Site, and the Site's mention of a rule, guideline, or source is not a statement that any product is approved, certified, compliant, or secure.

The Site name

"Security Keypads" is the name of the Site. It is not a statement that any keypad is secure, or that we sell, install, or monitor keypads or any other product.

Brand names and trademarks

Brand, product, program, and organization names mentioned on the Site belong to their owners. We use them only to credit their own guidance. The Site is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any brand or organization it mentions.

Affiliate links

Some links may be affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you buy through them. Any purchase is between you and the retailer, under the retailer's terms. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Eligibility

The Site is for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Site in violation of any law;
  • copy, scrape, or republish Site content in bulk without our written permission;
  • interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site.

Intellectual property

Site content, design, and text are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may view and share links to the Site for personal, non-commercial use. Third-party names and trademarks are covered under "Brand names and trademarks" above.

Third-party websites

Links to retailers, makers, government agencies, and other websites are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products, prices, or policies.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE, ANY PURCHASE FROM A THIRD PARTY, ANY BREAK-IN, THEFT, LOSS, OR INJURY, OR THE SELECTION, INSTALLATION, PROGRAMMING, OR USE OF ANY KEYPAD, LOCK, ALARM, APP, OR OTHER DEVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED.

Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

Dispute resolution; binding arbitration; class-action waiver

Please read this section carefully. Except for small-claims matters and claims for injunctive relief over intellectual property, any dispute about these Terms or the Site will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The seat of arbitration will be King County, Washington, unless you and we agree otherwise. You and we waive any right to a jury trial and to take part in a class, consolidated, or representative action. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim must proceed in court and not in arbitration.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to the arbitration section, exclusive venue for permitted court actions is the state or federal courts in King County, Washington, and you consent to jurisdiction there.

Assignment and change of operator

We may assign or transfer these Terms, and the Site, to a successor operator, including as part of a sale of the Site, without notice to you. After that, the successor operator takes our place under these Terms and may post its own terms. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.

Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after that date means you accept the revised Terms.

Miscellaneous

These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
