Smart is a maker's word

Smart lock, smart deadbolt, and app-connected keypad are makers' names. The maker's description says what a given device connects to.

Radio parts

A connected keypad may carry the FCC Part 15 statement that 47 CFR 15.19 sets out. An FCC statement on a device is not a statement about its security.

Apps and accounts

A connected keypad and its app are run by the maker under its own terms and privacy policy. Change default settings as the maker directs.

No security claims

We do not say any device, app, or network is secure.
